JUEVES IV DE PASCUA
 MOTYWACJA
El evangelio de hoy nos introduce en una escena íntima entre Jesús y sus discípulos. En el centro del camino de la Pascua, la comunidad cristiana retoma las palabras y los hechos de la Pasión de Cristo, para poderlos gustar en toda su hondura.
Nos hallamos al atardecer, en el espacio solemne en que Cristo ha lavado los pies a los suyos; entonces, les dirige unas palabras para hacerles entender el porqué de su actuación. Son palabras de bienaventuranza las que Jesús les dirige a ellos, y hoy a nosotros.
Escuchemos con el corazón abierto y solidario, estas palabras del Señor en las horas previas a su muerte.
Del Evangelio de san Juan 13,16-20
Cuando Jesús terminó de lavar los pies a sus discípulos les dijo:
«En verdad, en verdad os digo: el criado no es más que su amo, ni el enviado es más que el que lo envía. Puesto que sabéis esto, dichosos vosotros si lo ponéis en práctica. No lo digo por todos vosotros; yo sé bien a quiénes he elegido, pero tiene que cumplirse la Escritura: “El que compartía mi pan me ha traicionado”. Os lo digo ahora, antes de que suceda, para que cuando suceda creáis que yo soy.
En verdad, en verdad os digo: el que recibe a quien yo envíe me recibe a mí; y el que me recibe a mí recibe al que me ha enviado».

 MODLITEWNY KOMENTARZ
La palabra que hoy se nos regala, contiene una de las Bienaventuranzas ocultas del Nuevo Testamento. Es aquella que Jesús dirige a sus discípulos: «Dichosos vosotros si lo ponéis en práctica» Una bienaventuranza que también se nos dirige a nosotros.
¿A qué se refiere?
De la vida y del mensaje de Jesús sabemos muchos detalles. Hay fragmentos que podríamos incluso repetir de memoria; también, cada uno de nosotros, tenemos algún que otro versículo del Evangelio, algún pasaje inspirador, que nos centra y nos hace volver a la fuente de la vida y de la fe. Pero Jesús nos alerta para que no nos quedemos sólo en un plano racional, de conocimientos, de buenos deseos, sino que nuestra vida sea coherente con aquello que pensamos y creemos: «Dichosos vosotros si lo ponéis en práctica".
Jesús, mientras lavaba los pies a sus discípulos, era plenamente consciente de la profundidad y del escándalo de su gesto. Era difícil permitir que el Maestro y el Señor tomara la posición de las esclavas y se pusiera a realizar una tarea que se consideraba bastante denigrante. Pero Cristo le da al gesto la hondura del servicio y del amor hasta el extremo. Si -al igual que los discípulos- nosotros llevábamos algunos años acompañando al Maestro, seguro que habremos aprendido que la mayor felicidad se halla en entregarnos y servir; en tratar a todos como hermanos, y hacernos prójimos de los más necesitados.
Hay una bienaventuranza única en todo ello. Que Dios nos conceda hoy la gracia de gustarla y de ponerla en práctica.

MODLITWA
Señor Jesús:
Como tus discípulos,
también nosotros te proclamamos
nuestro Señor y Maestro,
pero somos conscientes
de que hay demasiado espacio
entre tu mensaje y nuestra práctica de vida;
entre tu Palabra que nos entusiasma
y nuestros gestos generosos y gratuitos.
 
Hoy venimos ante Ti
entusiasmados por la fuerza de tu Bienaventuranza;
y aunque nos sabemos débiles y sin fuerzas,
sabemos que Tú nos seguirás alentando
para entregarnos en lo cotidiano,
y así poder encontrar la verdadera felicidad.
Señor Jesús: tu ejemplo nos ilumina;
haz que nunca nos separemos de Ti.

 Today’s Gospel introduces us to a warm scene between Jesus and his disciples. At the centre of the Passover journey, the Christian community takes up the words and deeds of the Passion of Christ, in order to be able to taste them in all their depth.
We are at sundown, in the solemn space where Christ has washed the feet of his disciples. Then, he explains to them the reason for his actions. They are words of bliss that Jesus addresses to them, and today to us.
Let us listen with an open and empathetic heart, these words of the Lord in the hours before his death.
From the Gospel of John 13:16-20
When Jesus finished washing the feet of his disciples, He said to them:
“Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
“I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turned against me.’
“I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am. 
Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”

REFLEKSJA

The word that is given to us today contains one of the hidden Beatitudes of the New Testament. It is the one that Jesus addresses to his disciples: “Blessed are you if you put it into practice” A blessedness that is also addressed to us.
What does He mean?
We know many details from the life and message of Jesus. There are fragments that we could even repeat by heart. Some of us provably have some verses of the Gospel, some inspiring passage that focuses us and brings us back to the source of life and faith. But Jesus alerts us so that we do not remain only at a rational level of knowledge, of good wishes, but that our life be coherent with what we think and believe: “Blessed are you if you put it into practice.”
While washing the feet of his disciples, Jesus was fully aware of the depth and scandal of his gesture. It was difficult to allow the Master and the Lord to take the position of the slaves and set about performing a task that was considered quite demeaning. But Christ gives the gesture the depth of service and love to the extreme. If, like the disciples, we have been accompanying the Master for some years, surely we will have learned that the greatest happiness lies in surrendering and serving; to treat everyone as brother/sister, and to make ourselves close to those most in need.
There is a unique beatitude in all this. May God grant us today the grace to delight in it and put it into practice.

MODLITWA
 
Lord Jesus:
Like your disciples,
we also proclaim you
our Lord and Master,
but we are aware
that there is a great gap
between your message and our life practice;
between your Word received with enthusiasm
and our generous and gratuitous gestures.
 
Today we come before You
excited by the strength of your Beatitude;
and although we know ourselves to be weak and without strength,
we know that You will continue to encourage us
to give ourselves in everyday life,
and thus be able to find true happiness.
Lord Jesus: your example enlightens us;
may we never separate from You.
