SÁBADO IV DE PASCUA
MOTIVACIÓN
Cuando tenemos la experiencia de conocer a una gran persona, a una persona buena, parece que nuestra vida se rehace; que hasta nosotros mismos mejoramos, y nuestras inseguridades internas olvidan su espacio de duda. Y así, la vida vuelve a sonreír segura.
Conocer.
Conocemos muchas cosas, vivimos a través del tiempo variadas experiencias; la mochila de nuestra vida se llena y se vacía de vivencias y personas; pero adelantando en el camino, lo que en el fondo más necesitamos es un buen amigo: alguien con quien poder compartir la ruta, las palabras y los silencios.
Hoy el Señor nos invita a conocerle de tú a tú. En su misterio.
Así de claro.
¿Es que es posible penetrar en su interior? ¿Descubrir sus preferencias y sus secretos?
El evangelio a ello nos invita. Se trata también de disponernos y de quererlo.
Del Evangelio de san Juan 14,7-14
En aquel tiempo, dijo Jesús a sus discípulos:
«Si me conocierais a mí, conoceríais también a mi Padre. Ahora ya lo conocéis y lo habéis visto».
Felipe le dice:
«Señor, muéstranos al Padre y nos basta».
Jesús le replica:
    «Hace tanto que estoy con vosotros, ¿y no me conoces, Felipe? Quien me ha visto a mí ha visto al Padre. ¿Cómo dices tú: “Muéstranos al Padre”? ¿No crees que yo estoy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí? Lo que yo os digo no lo hablo por cuenta propia. El Padre, que permanece en mí, él mismo hace las obras. Creedme: yo estoy en el Padre y el Padre en mí. Si no, creed a las obras.
En verdad, en verdad os digo: el que cree en mí, también él hará las obras que yo hago, y aún mayores, porque yo me voy al Padre. Y lo que pidáis en mi nombre, yo lo haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo. Si me pedís algo en mi nombre, yo lo haré».
COMENTARIO ORANTE
La palabra que hoy se nos dirige, nos invita a un conocimiento interno de Jesús; no a un saber racional o en la distancia, sino a un saber de Él a través del trato asiduo y cotidiano con su Persona.
¿Es eso posible? ¿no se trata más bien de una osadía?
Conocer.
En la biblia, siempre el verbo «conocer» remite a una experiencia personal; de ahí que Cristo le dice a la samaritana: «Si conocieras el don de Dios, y quién es el que te pide de beber, sin duda que tú misma me pedirías a mí. Y yo te daría agua viva» (Jn 4,10). Conocer a Cristo no nos deja indiferentes, nos introduce en dimensiones insospechadas, en un intercambio mutuo de deseos y de amor. Pero hay que atreverse a ello.
 
La pena podría ser pasar tiempo y tiempo con Cristo y desconocer de sus sentimientos, de sus preferencias, de sus sueños y proyectos. Así se lo reprocha Jesús a Felipe: «¿Hace tanto tiempo que estoy con vosotros, y no me conoces?»
En la aventura de Cristo, siempre estamos a tiempo de empezar, de recomenzar; de entrar en las dimensiones profundas del ser y admirarnos de Su presencia.
 
Quizás es un itinerario que empieza con un simple gesto: una mirada profunda a Su rostro, una palabra pronunciada en toda la verdad de mi situación.
Es un camino simple -pero de valientes- el de conocer a Cristo.
¿Me atreveré?
Hoy puede ser ese día.

ORACIÓN
Señor Jesús:
Me sorprende tu invitación atrevida
a que te conozca por dentro.
¿No eres tú el exaltado en la gloria,
el Hijo unigénito del Padre,
el eterno?
 
Pero con todo, Tú insistes:
¡Conóceme a mi ¡Conoce al Padre!
No se puede dar un conocimiento profundo
entre dos personas si no es mutuo;
si ambos no se arriesgan a bajar defensas
y a compartir el propio interior.
 
Por eso, hoy me atrevo a pedirte:
Tú que me conoces y me sabes como nadie,
haz que hoy te conozca un poco más en lo que eres,
más profundamente,
más en verdad.
Y que el encuentro profundo contigo
me dé alas para amarme a mí mismo como Tú me amas,
y para servir -así, tal y como soy-
a los demás.

MOTIVATION
When we have the experience of knowing a great person, a good person, it seems that our life is renewed; that even we ourselves improve, and our internal insecurities forget their space of doubt. And so, life returns to smile confidently.
To know.
We know many things, we live through varied experiences over time; the rucksack of our life is filled and emptied of experiences and people; but advancing along the way, what we need most is a good friend: someone with whom we can share the route, the words and the silences.
Today the Lord invites us to know him face to face. In his mystery.
So clear.
Is it really possible to penetrate his inner life? To discover his preferences and his secrets?
The gospel invites us positively to do so. It is also about disposing ourselves and wanting it.

From the Gospel of John 14:7-14
If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said,
“Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus answered: 
“Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

REFLECTION
The word that is addressed to us today invites us to an inner knowledge of Jesus; not to a rational or distant knowledge, but to a knowledge of Him through the assiduous and daily dealings with his Person.
Is that possible? Isn’t that rather too daring? 
To know.
In the bible, the verb “to know” always refers to a personal experience; hence, Christ says to the Samaritan: “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” (Jn 4:10). Knowing Christ does not leave us indifferent, it introduces us into unsuspected dimensions, in a mutual exchange of desires and love.
The pity could be staying time and again with Christ and being unaware of his feelings, his preferences, his dreams and projects. Thus Jesus reproached Philip: “Have I been with you so long, and you do not know me?”
In the adventure of Christ, we are always in time to start again; to enter into the deep dimensions our being and admire His presence.
This journey may begin with a simple gesture: a deep look at His face, a word spoken in all the truth of my actual situation.
It is a simple path -but a courageous one-, that of knowing Christ.
Will l dare?
Today may be the day.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus:
I am surprised by your daring invitation
to know you from the inside.
Are you not the one exalted in glory,
the only begotten Son of the Father,
the eternal one?
 
Yet, you insist:
Know me! Know the Father!
A deep knowledge cannot take place
between two people if it is not mutual;
if both do not risk lowering their defences
and sharing their inner selves.
 
That’s why, today I dare to ask you:
You, who know me better than anyone else,
make me know you today a little better as you are,
more deeply,
more truly.
And that the deep encounter with you
may give me wings to love myself as you love me,
and to serve -just as I am-
my sisters and brothers.
