 SÁBADO III DE PASCUA
MOTIVACIÓN
En el Evangelio de hoy, hay una atmósfera de tensión, que quizás no está muy lejos de lo que nosotros mismos a veces percibimos y oímos. Críticas mezquinas, escándalo, cobardías, echarse atrás… También esos hechos rodearon a Jesús en su ministerio; a Jesús y a los que le seguían como amigos.
Y por desgracia, la tensión que hoy nos presenta la palabra, puede reflejar la que vivimos en muchas de nuestras comunidades cuando llega el momento de definirnos, de tomar opciones, de demostrar con nuestros hechos que somos cristianos y deseamos a fondo vivir en Evangelio. En nuestro entorno y con claridad.
Cristo Resucitado nos anima a ser valientes y a definir nuestra opción por Él.
¿Le dejaremos solo? ¿Le abandonaremos?
Gustando de su presencia, es desvarío no dejarnos tocar por la bendición de su vida y de su mensaje. Abramos con sinceridad nuestro corazón a su palabra.

Del Evangelio de san Juan 6,60-69
En aquel tiempo, muchos de los discípulos de Jesús dijeron:
    «Este modo de hablar es duro, ¿quién puede hacerle caso?».
Sabiendo Jesús que sus discípulos lo criticaban, les dijo:
    «¿Esto os escandaliza?, ¿y si vierais al Hijo del hombre subir adonde estaba antes? El Espíritu es quien da vida; la carne no sirve para nada. Las palabras que os he dicho son espíritu y vida. Y, con todo, hay algunos de entre vosotros que no creen».
Pues Jesús sabía desde el principio quiénes no creían y quién lo iba a entregar.
Y dijo:
    «Por eso os he dicho que nadie puede venir a mí si el Padre no se lo concede».
Desde entonces, muchos discípulos suyos se echaron atrás y no volvieron a ir con él.
Entonces Jesús les dijo a los Doce:
    «¿También vosotros queréis marcharos?».
Simón Pedro le contestó:
    «Señor, ¿a quién vamos a acudir? Tú tienes palabras de vida eterna; nosotros creemos y sabemos que tú eres el Santo de Dios».

COMENTARIO ORANTE
En nuestra vida cristiana a veces estamos tentados en seleccionar las palabras del Evangelio; de adherirnos a las que nos complacen, y de hacernos un poco los sordos a aquellas que quizás nos exigen e interpelan, pues no necesitan de demasiadas explicaciones. Si por nosotros fuera, a veces querríamos recortar algunos fragmentos del Evangelio e ignorarlos como si no existieran. Pero el mensaje de Jesús es completo: lo podemos acoger o vivir de espaldas a él.
Jesús es muy claro cuando nos dice con cariño: «Perdona siempre. Hasta 70 veces 7»; «Es prójimo el que trata con misericordia a los demás»; «Orad sin desfallecer»; «No sólo de pan vive el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios». Nuestra tentación sigue siendo hoy la de muchos de sus contemporáneos: pensar que el Evangelio es tan exigente, tan interpelante, que mejor no adherirse a él para no sentirnos desanimados o incoherentes.
Tentación demasiado burda y fatal. Que huele a cómoda mediocridad más que a desear seguir caminando junto al Maestro.
Y la luz que hoy nos da la palabra sobre nuestras actitudes y las tentaciones que querrían alejarnos del proyecto de Jesús, nos espabila y nos resitúa. Después de tiempo junto a Cristo, disfrutando de su presencia y fortalecidos con sus sacramentos, de intentar vivir la fe en comunidad creyente, de nuestro corazón brota un grito necesitado, al igual que el de los apóstoles en boca de Pedro: «Señor, ¿a quién vamos a acudir? ¡Tú tienes palabras de vida eterna!»
Exclamar desde lo profundo del corazón que necesitamos hacer vida el Evangelio, no a trozos, sino en su auténtica simplicidad, nos hace reconocernos pecadores amados, y discípulos en camino. Corriendo sin cesar tras Jesús; con las alas de la fe.
PALABRA DE LOS MÍSTICOS

ORACIÓN
Sé, Señor,
que tu palabra no deja de ser exigente y me incomoda.
A veces me bloqueo,
porque en el corazón siento deseos de mayor coherencia con tu mensaje,
pero mi vida, no acaba de convertirse a Ti.
Ese desánimo que a veces me vence,
querría acallar la voz de tu Espíritu
que me invita siempre a más amor,
a más perdón,
a mayor mansedumbre y benevolencia.
 
En esos momentos en que me siento débil e incapaz,
concédeme la gracia de mirarte en el interior a los ojos,
y de pedirte como mayor regalo
el poder vivir tu Evangelio sin componendas,
con la certeza de que tu mensaje
es vida para todos
y bendición para los más necesitados.
 
Junto a Ti, Señor, todo es fácil
y la vida se convierte en fiesta.
Ya no me quiero centrar
en mi pequeñez e impotencia,
sino dejarme conducir
en la belleza fecunda de tu vida plena.

 MAY 11, 2019 – SATURDAY OF THE THIRD WEEK OF EASTER
MOTIVATION
In today’s Gospel, there is an ambiance of tension which perhaps is not very far from what we sometimes perceive and hear. Petty criticism, scandal, cowardice, pulling down … These same events surrounded Jesus in his ministry and his friends who followed him.
And unfortunately, the tension that the word presents today may reflect on how we live in our communities when it is time to define ourselves, in taking options, in showing good works as Christians and our desire to live the gospel deeply and visibly in our life.
The Risen Christ animates us to be courageous to define our option for Him.
Shall we leave him alone? Shall we abandon him?
Enjoying his presence, it is absurd not to be touched by the blessing of his life and his message. Let us then open our hearts with sincerity to his word.

From the Gospel of John 6, 60-69
When many of his disciples heard it, they said,
‘This teaching is difficult; who can accept it?’
But Jesus, being aware that his disciples were complaining about it, said to them,
 ‘Does this offend you? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But among you there are some who do not believe.’ For Jesus knew from the first who were the ones that did not believe, and who was the one that would betray him.
And he said,
‘For this reason, I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted by the Father.’
Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him.
So, Jesus asked the twelve,
 ‘Do you also wish to go away?’
Simon Peter answered him,
‘Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.’

REFLECTION
Sometimes in our Christian life we ​​are tempted to be selective from the words of the Gospel; to adhere to what is pleasing to us and give a deaf ear to its demands and challenges; because they don´t need much explanations. If it were for us, sometimes we like to cut some fragments of the Gospel and ignore them as if it doesn’t exist. But Jesus’ message is complete: we should welcome it or turn our back to it.
Jesus is clear when he expresses with affection: “Always forgive. Up to 70 times 7 »; “He is a neighbor when he is merciful to others”; «Pray without ceasing»; “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Our temptation continues today as it was with his contemporaries: think that the Gospel is demanding, so challenging, for which it is better not to adhere to him so as not to feel discouraged or incoherent.
It is a temptation that is too coarse and fatal. It is rather comfortable mediocrity more than wanting to walk with the Master.
And the light today gives us the word about our attitudes and the temptations that would take us away from the project of Jesus that enlivens and resituates us. After spending time with Christ, enjoying his presence and strengthened by his sacraments, striving to live the faith in a community of believers, from our hearts emerged a cry of the needy,  just like  that of the apostles who through the mouth of Peter exclaimed: «Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life!”
To exclaim from the depths of our heart to make the Gospel alive, not in pieces, but in its authentic simplicity, makes us recognize ourselves as the beloved sinners and disciples in the making. Running after Jesus endlessly with the wings of faith.

PRAYER
I know, Lord,
that your word would never stop challenging and bothering me.
Sometimes I get blocked,
because in my heart I feel a greater desire to be coherent with your message,
but my life is not transformed in you.
Discouragement sometimes defeats me,
I would like to silence the voice of your Spirit
that always invites me to love more,
to forgive more,
to a greater meekness and benevolence.
 
In those moments when I feel weak and helpless,
grant me the grace to look with the interior eye,
and to ask it as a better gift
of living your Gospel without compromise,
with the certainty that your message
is a life
and a blessing for all those in need.

in my littleness and impotence,
instead, to allow myself to be led
