Seeking the encounter of young people with Jesus

The Carmelite Missionary Sisters, from our charism of communion, feel called to share life with young people and together to promote the transformation of the Church and society.

In our mission as YYVM we seek to encourage young people to have a personal encounter with Jesus, to discover, accompany and share their deepest aspirations, to strengthen their values, to accompany them in their process of personal fulfilment and in their search for the meaning of their lives.

A mission that is gaining strength after the celebration of the Synod on Youth. In the final document, Pope Francis stresses the importance of accompanying young people in their search for the meaning of life, because it is they themselves who are calling for it.  In general, young people declare themselves to be in search of the meaning of life and show interest in spirituality. Such attention, however, sometimes takes the form of a search for psychological comfort rather than an openness to encounter the Mystery of the living God.
