Despite the many challenges posed against this celebration of God’s gift of our vocations, the day teamed with people who came, at the Holy Ghost Cathedral Enugu, to witness the profession to God, of a definitive YES of Sisters Juliana Ugwoke, Juliet Ogbodo, Blessing Ayogu, and Blessing Abonyi. As well, we had the thanksgiving to God’s faithfulness of Sisters Eucharia Igwebuike and Janet Oyeobado in their 25 years of service in the Lord’s vineyard.
Church in communion and participation
The celebration was presided over by His Lordship Most Rev Dr. Callistus Valentine Chukwuma Onaga, the Catholic bishop of Enugu Diocese at 10 am. The choir sang to the tune of the angels and the Eucharistic celebration was so participative.
Friends and relatives attended the occasion in large numbers and the Church was full despite the short notice of the change of the date and venue. The families of sisters Eucharia Igwebuike and Janet Oyeobado could not attend the occasion due to the violent political tension in Anambra State.
One of the sisters comments
With the seven living-in aspirants of CM, the CM sisters and novices, the Carmelite friars, many other religious men and women, friends and well-wishers in attendance, the celebration was fabulous. TO GOD WE GIVE ALL THE GLORY.
