In recent days, the 5th National Vocations Congress of Brazil, organized by the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB), was held.

Sister Elisangela, from the Betim Community, had the opportunity to participate in this Congress. She currently serves as an advisor in the animation and accompaniment of Consecrated Religious Life in Minas Gerais, a mission that allows her to experience enriching encounters, ongoing formation, and communion with many women and men religious. For her, the intercongregational experience is a true gift: walking together, sharing life, challenges, and dreams, and discovering that, although they belong to different charisms, they share the same mission in service to the Church.

During this 5th Congress, participants reflected on the theme, "Vocational Communities: Encounter, Witness, and Mission," inspired by Acts 2:46: "They met together with one accord and broke bread in their homes."

These were days filled with grace, attentive listening, and reflection. They provided an opportunity to revisit our own vocational journey, renew the call we have received, and discover new insights for the ministry of Vocation Animation.

One of the lessons I carry with me is the importance of knowing how to work with others, especially with young people, by creating spaces of encounter, listening, accompaniment, and discernment. A vocation is awakened and strengthened when we encounter communities that joyfully witness that it is worthwhile to give one's life in service to God and to others.

I return home with a grateful heart, thanking God for this opportunity that has been given to me. I am grateful to my community and, in a special way, to our Congregation of the Carmelite Missionaries, which allows me to carry out this mission and continue learning each day.

May the Lord continue to awaken vocations and grant us communities capable of welcoming, accompanying, witnessing, and sending forth.

Sr. Elisângela, CM
