In our parish of St. Joseph's, Pazhukara, Kerala we celebrated the Lenten season with great fervour, we started with the imposition of ashes on the forehead and a dark rope with a small cross around the neck. Every day there was Eucharist in the morning and evening and the Way of the Cross every Friday evening, people came from their unit (there are 14 of them) praying the Way of the Cross, arrived at 7 pm and there was a blessing. Everyone, including children and young people, did the Lenten fast.

The Franciscan Fathers have invited the parish for a week of Spiritual Exercises. They visited every family and listened to all the complaints and sufferings of the people. In the evening they celebrated the Eucharist, preached, and had adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Giving everyone the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

During the days of Lent, the people with the parish priest and sisters have visited 14 churches making the Way of the Cross, climbing 3 important mountains in the area, to remember and accompany the pain of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This preparation helped us to celebrate the Easter Triduum with great fervour, prepared by the young people. We went through the great mysteries of Jesus' life, accompanying him in the institution of the Eucharist, the prayer of Gethsemane, as well as going up to Calvary and adoring the cross together with Mary. We end with the great celebration of Easter, the passage from death to life of the Lord Jesus.

After the Easter celebration, we shared the joy, eating chops and celebrating Easter Joy.
