JUEVES VII DE PASCUA
MOTIVACIÓN
Hoy contemplo a aquellos que me rodean.
Las calles de la ciudad, los caminos rurales, el espacio de mi propia celda, la casa en que habito, los ambientes que son escenario de mi devenir cotidiano.
Todo parece como siempre, pero la presencia del Resucitado los transfigura; es la de Cristo una presencia orante que se mantiene a lo largo de los siglos velando por todos nosotros.
De esta forma es como hoy le podemos contemplar a Jesús en el Evangelio: Amor que le habla al Padre de nosotros. Amor que ora por todos nosotros.
Entre el asfalto, en los campos y ciudades, en grupo y en solitario, hay quien nos sostiene.
El que nunca nos falta.

Del Evangelio de san Juan 17,20-26
En aquel tiempo, levantando los ojos al cielo, oró Jesús diciendo:
«No solo por ellos ruego, sino también por los que crean en mí por la palabra de ellos, para que todos sean uno, como tú, Padre, en mí, y yo en ti, que ellos también sean uno en nosotros, para que el mundo crea que tú me has enviado.
Yo les he dado la gloria que tú me diste, para que sean uno, como nosotros somos uno; yo en ellos, y tú en mí, para que sean completamente uno, de modo que el mundo sepa que tú me has enviado y que los has amado a ellos como me has amado a mí.
Padre, este es mi deseo: que los que me has dado estén conmigo donde yo estoy y contemplen mi gloria, la que me diste, porque me amabas, antes de la fundación del mundo.
Padre justo, si el mundo no te ha conocido, yo te he conocido, y estos han conocido que tú me enviaste. Les he dado a conocer y les daré a conocer tu nombre, para que el amor que me tenías esté en ellos, y yo en ellos».
 

COMENTARIO ORANTE
Cuando Jesús piensa en el legado que nos puede dejar -además de su propio Cuerpo y Sangre-, nos ofrece un Nombre; el nombre que siempre le ha configurado y que ha sostenido toda su existencia: el nombre de su Padre.
En la oración que Cristo dirige hoy al Padre, le explicita un deseo: quiere que estemos en Él y que contemplemos su Amor, que nos da vida.
El peligro de la vivencia cristiana puede consistir en acumular ideas, conceptos hermosos o profundos, discursos inspirados, pero quizás, no sentimos que nos afectan, que se refieren a nuestra persona en concreto; tal y como es, y tal y como está.
Las bellísimas palabras del Evangelio de hoy no están lanzadas a los cuatro vientos de manera general, sino dirigidas a mí. Queridas por Cristo para mí. Tocando el fondo de mi ser y solicitando una respuesta.
Jesús nos ha hecho conocer un Nombre, y no un nombre cualquiera: el nombre del Padre, con toda la carga de presencia e intimidad que suponía para Jesús; el nombre de Aquél que se mostró hecho carne en la persona de Cristo.
Es un Nombre que se nos ha dado a conocer de manera personal, con un significado concreto para cada uno de nosotros.
Un Nombre que aún Cristo nos seguirá revelando. Siempre que lo necesitemos. Cuando más lo añoramos.
«Padre justo; Yo les he dado a conocer y les daré a conocer tu nombre, para que el amor que me tenías esté en ellos, y yo en ellos».
 ORACIÓN
Me sobrecoge, Señor Jesús,
tu generosidad hasta el extremo;
cómo deseas compartir con cada uno de nosotros
el tesoro de tu vida,
tu unión profunda con el Padre.
 
Y convocarnos a ella.
Y desearnos en ella.
 
Hoy quiero guardar a lo largo de la jornada
el recuerdo silencioso e íntimo
de la palabra que te fundaba y sostenía:
«¡Padre!»
Y cobijado en ella,
aprender a entregarme como Tú,
aprender a amar como Tú,
aprender también a quererme.
Porque Tú me llamas «hermano»,
y en el Padre,
soy también hijo querido.

MOTIVATION
Today I contemplate all around me: the streets of the city, the rural roads, the space of my own cell, the house in which I live, the environments that are the scene of my daily interactions.
Everything seems as always, but the presence of the Risen One transfigures them; Christ’s is a prayerful presence that is maintained over the centuries watching over all of us.
This is how we can contemplate Jesus in the Gospel today: Love that speaks to our Father. Love that prays for all of us.
Between the asphalts, in the fields and in the cities, in groups and alone, there is One who sustains us.
The one who never fails us.

 From the Gospel of John 17:20-26
Raising his eyes to heaven, Jesus said:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one —I in them and you in me— so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

REFLECTION
When Jesus thinks of the legacy he can leave us -in addition to his own Body and Blood- he offers us a Name; the name that has always configured him and that has sustained his entire existence: the name of his Father.
In the prayer that Christ addresses today to the Father, he makes an explicit wish: he wants us to be in him and to contemplate his Love, which gives us life.
The danger of the Christian experience may consist of accumulating ideas, beautiful or deep concepts, inspired discourses, but perhaps, we do not feel that they affect us, that they refer to our person in particular; just as it is.
The beautiful words of the Gospel of today are not thrown to the four winds in a general way, but directed to me. Loved by Christ for me. Touching the bottom of my being and asking for an answer.
Jesus has made us know a Name, and not just any name: the name of the Father, with all the load of presence and closeness that it carried for Jesus; the name of the One who was made flesh in the person of Christ.
It is a Name that has been made known to us in a personal way, with a concrete meaning for each one of us.
A Name that even Christ will continue to reveal to us. Whenever we need it. When we most miss it.
“I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I am overwhelmed
by your extreme generosity,
by how you want to share with each one of us
the treasure of your life,
your deep union with the Father.
 
And to summon us to it;
and to wish that we be immersed in it.
 
Today I want to keep throughout the day
the silent and intimate memory
of the word that founded and sustained you:
“Father!”
And sheltered in it,
learn to surrender like You;
learn to love like You,
and also learn to love myself.
Because you call me “brother/sister”,
and in the Father,
I am also a beloved child.
