MIÉRCOLES IV DE PASCUA
MOTIVACIÓN
En este nuevo día, oh Padre, quiero abrirme a tu presencia. A tu ser amoroso que se nos hace carne en Jesús.
Él es nuestra Luz, porque nos revela que tu Amor es amor siempre.
Él es nuestra Luz, porque nos deja claro que tu palabra no es la del juicio severo, sino la de la oportunidad a la vuelta de la esquina.
Él es nuestra Luz, la que disipa nuestras tinieblas e inquietudes interiores.
Que Cristo, Luz del mundo, Señor del tiempo y de la historia
ilumine desde dentro nuestro día
y nos haga testigos de su consuelo
y de su resplandor.

Del Evangelio de san Juan 12,44-50 
En aquel tiempo, Jesús gritó diciendo:
    «El que cree en mí, no cree en mí, sino en el que me ha enviado. Y el que me ve a mí, ve al que me ha enviado. Yo he venido al mundo como luz, y así, el que cree en mí no quedará en tinieblas.
Al que oiga mis palabras y no las cumpla, yo no lo juzgo, porque no he venido para juzgar al mundo, sino para salvar al mundo. El que me rechaza y no acepta mis palabras tiene quien lo juzgue: la palabra que yo he pronunciado, esa lo juzgará en el último día. Porque yo no he hablado por cuenta mía; el Padre que me envió es quien me ha ordenado lo que he de decir y cómo he de hablar. Y sé que su mandato es vida eterna. Por tanto, lo que yo hablo, lo hablo como me ha encargado el Padre».

COMENTARIO ORANTE
Impresiona contemplar en el Evangelio la intimidad y obediencia que Cristo vive con el Padre; pero aún nos interpela mucho más cuando es a esa misma intimidad a la que somos invitados.
Cristo aparece entre nosotros como luz.
Su resplandor nos confirma que en Dios prevalece el Amor al juicio, la salvación al castigo, el encuentro a la lejanía.
Pensar que Cristo nos ha tratado y nos trata con la misma hondura de amor que Él vive con el Padre, despierta en nosotros dimensiones desconocidas, y nos saca de nuestros letargos e inmovilidades.
Aceptar la palabra del Señor. Acoger la intimidad que nos ofrece. Dejarnos iluminar por su ejemplo. Caminar por sus senderos de vida… Ésta es la novedad de la Pascua, la posibilidad de entrar por entero en una vida nueva y renovada.
Poder ser también nosotros
testigos ante el mundo
de su Persona y de Su palabra.

ORACIÓN
 
Cristo Jesús,
Tú eres la Luz verdadera,
y en Ti, no hay tiniebla alguna.
 
Creer en Ti y en tu Palabra,
contemplar en Ti el ser del Padre,
arriesgar nuestro amor por seguirte,
nos hace luminosos,
e impulsa a nuestro mundo
a caminar hacia Ti.
 
Vence nuestras tinieblas con la fuerza de tu Luz.
Concede al mundo tu luz interior
para discernir nuestras acciones y caminos.
Haznos conocer, Señor, la diferencia
entre vivir iluminados en tu claridad
u oscurecernos en las tinieblas de nuestro egoísmo.
 
¡Oh, Cristo, Luz sin ocaso!
Haz que resplandezcamos todos en Ti.

4th WEDNESDAY OF EASTER
MOTIVATION
On this new day, Father, I want to open myself to your presence. To your loving being that becomes flesh in Jesus.
He is our Light, because he reveals to us that your Love is unending love. He is our Light, because He makes it clear to us that your word is not that of severe judgment, but that of opportunity right around the corner. He is our Light, which dispels our inner darkness and restlessness.
May Christ, Light of the world, Lord of time and history
shed his light on our day from within
and make us witnesses of his consolation
and his radiance.
From the Gospel of John 12:44-50
Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
“If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day. For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

REFLECTION
It is impressive contemplating in the Gospel the intimacy and obedience that Christ lives with the Father; but it still questions us much more when it is the same intimacy that we are invited to.
Christ appears among us as light.
His radiance confirms to us that in God, Love prevails over judgement, salvation over punishment, encounter over distance.
To think that Christ has treated and treats us with the same depth of love that He lives with the Father, awakens in us unknown dimensions, and takes us out from our lethargy and stagnancy.
To accept the word of the Lord. To welcome the intimacy that He offers us. To let us be enlightened by his example. To walk along his paths of life… This is the novelty of Easter, the possibility of entering fully into a new and renewed life.
That we too,
may be witnesses before the world
of His Person and His word.
 
PRAYER

Jesus Christ,
You are the true Light,
and in You, there is no darkness at all.
 
Believing in You and in your Word,
contemplating in You the Father’s being,
risking our love to follow you…,
all this enlightens us,
and it drives our world
to walk towards You.
 
Overcome our darkness with the strength of your Light.
Grant the world your inner light
to discern our actions and ways.
Make us know, Lord, the difference
between living enlightened by your clarity
or obscured in the darkness of our egoism.
 
Oh, Christ, Light without end!
Make us all shine in You.
